The Story of Gilgamesh

"The Epic of Gilgamesh" is a very fasinating story that the Mesopotamians wrote about their king and his friend Enkidu. Gilgamesh ,a Mesopotamian king,was an all powerful king .He was able to pick up mountains,which was handy on ocassions.He could as well ,dive down to the deepest part in the ocean in one breath!But,he could not live forever.It was that that really got him angry.The gods looked down at Gilgamesh .They decided that Gilgamesh needed a challenge.They created a man named Enkidu.Einkidu was stronger andfaster than Gilgamesh.Einkidu when into the city of Uruk.Both of them fought until they realized their battle was for nothing.Both of them became friends.One day Enkidu asked Gilgamesh if they could go on an adventure to the Forbbiden Forest.They walked for miles and miles and finally they arrived.Little did they know there was a demon stalking the forest.Gilgamesh and his friend Enkidu were walking in the forest when,suddenly the demon jumped out.Both friends fought the demon until they killed him.They gathered as much wood as they could.When they walked in Uruk,the people saw them as heroes.after a few days Enkidu became serverly ill,and soon passed away.Gilgamesh ,sad and angry went of into the desert to a temple of the sun god.The gaurds of the temple,scorpians,told him that his jorney to the underworld was hopeless,but they let him pass.
