The Unification of Egypt

Menes was considered to be Egypt's first pharaoh by many historians.Menes rose to power from Upper Egypt.Historians think that Menes is a myth and his accomplishments were not his but by other ancient kings.Menes wanted to unite the Upper and Lower kingdoms of Egypt.He first invaded Lower Egypt and then married the princess of Lower Egypt to strenthened his position over the newly unified kingdoms.Menes combined both the crowns of Lower Egypt and Upper Egypt.He wore them both white and red crowns.The crowns symbolized his leadership over the new two kingdoms
